The Jala Peo Mathematics Programme is dedicated towards the development of Mathematics within underprivileged communities.
Our Jala Peo delivered a pilot project in 2020 from term 3 to 4 during the pandemic to rescue the academic year for two schools (Matale & Thethe secondary school) focusing on Grade 9, in two villages within the Northwest province, Phokeng & Luka.
The supporting staff was 1 teacher per school and 1 cyber-tutor per 4 students. A pass rate of 98.33% was obtained leaving only one out of 63 students with a math mark below 30%. In term 1, 41% achieved over 50% on their Mathematics mark (before our intervention), in term 3, 78% of our students achieved over 50% on their Math mark and the final term (combination of term 1,3 and work of term 4) mark for 2020, 73% of the student managed to achieve over 50%. In term 1, our students came in with 9 distinctions of 63 students and in term 3 during our intervention, students managed to double the distinctions and achieved 19 distinctions (6 of 19 with over 90% and 1 student with 100%) , and on the final term which is the combination of term 1,3 and work done in term 4, our students achieved 11 distinctions(17%). The objectives and requirements for the project were met.
We as the Program through our Tunisi Family decided to raise funds from our supporters to contribute towards the eradication of Covid-19 through food parcels to give families a better stance at surviving the Pandemic. On the 9th of May 2020 we went on our first quest to relief 135 families which reached to a total of over 800 family members in the Royal Bafokeng Community. Understanding the current conditions of the Covid-19, we made sure to deliver all the 135 parcels door-to-door for convenience of the families and minimize the chances of them having to gather or travel. Having engaged with the families on our first quest, we met families in equal or in-depth need. Which now compelled us to further keep raising funds not only for the food parcels but also a rescue plan related to the survival of individuals post Covid-19.
From our first round, we saw the need and demand which we now as a Program decided to further raise funds and assist more, but on our second round we went an extra-mile understanding the current conditions. We managed to raise more funds to assist a further 115 families, where we also screened(Thermal Screening) families for any suspicious temperature range, fortunately all families tested below 37 degrees Celsius ( Ranged between 34.0-36.8 degrees Celsius). From the 115 families we managed to relief over 600 family members.
With this Pandemic Lock-down, more and more families are falling into famine and there aren't adequate Programs and Systems coming to the rescue, so we understand the little we have to relief families means the world to them and we haven't stopped.
We together with Maemo Motors & JeepInmates Club partnered to collect school uniform & bags with the pure intention to donate to schools that are in most need.
Last year the Jeep Inmates Family together with Maemo Motors under the coordination of Odirile Molokoane managed to collect a number of school uniforms and bags with the aim to put a smile on learners who are underprivileged.
On Friday the 5th of February 2021, we were able to successfully deliver the collected batch to three (3) different schools in three different locations within Rustenburg.
1. Kroondal Primary-Kroondal
2. JM Mosiah-Tlhabane
3. Moremogolo Primary-Phokeng
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude towards individuals who have gone beyond their way in making sure that learners who are most deserving will not have to worry nor resent school because of their unpleasing uniform conditions.
Great thanks to Maemo motors and the Jeep family for the collection and distribution of the school uniform and bags.

Women have been victimized in our society, as it has become harder and harder to survive on the South African streets as a woman considering the horrible increase in Gender-Based Violence. We as the Tunisi Program took it upon ourselves into doing something for the women that will contribute towards their livelihood and health, so our women do not feel as if they are all alone in this world.
In 2018, South Africa recorded an amazing increment in new Breast Cancer cases of 14 097. It has been predicted that 70% of the world's cancer weight will affect low and middle class countries such South Africa where Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the country. We as the Tunisi Program are dedicated towards the education of our people with this disease, not only focusing on women but also men, as 90% of the cases are brought up to health centres by women, saying that their partners detected a lump and that they should consult. This shows that men play a crucial role in the early detection of possible Breast cancer, hence they too need to be educated.
The Tunisi Program is looking into raising BREAST CANCER awareness from the 1st of October all the way to the 31st of October 2020. Precisely focusing on curbing the late presentation of Breast Cancer cases to the clinics, focusing in the Rustenburg area. Our intentions are to save more lives, as breast cancer has been a thief of lives to our women, only because we are not well informed with respect to Breast cancer as a community . The earlier the detection the better the chances of life lived.
Any donation towards our cause is always appreciated.
Thank you!
